The On The Go™ Add-In is for people on the go who need a tool to help them manage their Inbox and their busy lives.
How it Works
Using the buttons on the Outlook ribbon, you can convert emails to Tasks and Appointments with ease, automatically removing them from your Inbox. You can assign each Task or Appointment a project and for Tasks you can set the context in which they are to be performed.
If you use the On The Go™ Add-In every day, you will find your Inbox empty and your calendar and task lists full of places to go and things to do.
Tasks and appointments can also come in the form of a phone call, text message, surfing the Internet, etc. If that is the case, just create a new task or appointment and use the On The Go™ tool bar to capture the idea and assign a context and/or project.
If you use the On The Go™ Add-In and follow these rules each day, you will find your Inbox empty and your calendar and task list full of places to go and things to do.
Even though the goal of the Add-In is to gain control of your inbox, the same approach can be used on any mail folder in the system, even Sent Mail. The only folders excluded from this list are Drafts, Outbox and the folders installed under the On The Go folder (Archived Mail, Settings and Snooze)
The add-in provides the ability to set a project on just about any item in the system. This will let you to easily organize and view your items by project.
Contexts are an important way of determining what task you are going to work on based on the context you are in. The add-in keeps a list of contexts to choose from when assigning tasks. That way if you are near your phone, pull up the tasks folder with the By Context view to find those items whose context is @phone.
